What can I do here?

  • Tour the exhibit at the interpretation centre. Talk to interpreters about the culture and eventual demise of the Beothuk people.
  • Walk the wooded trail and imagine life in this area before the arrival of Europeans - when the Beothuk thrived along this coast.
  • Look for "The Spirit of the Beothuk", a sculpture by Gerald Squires.
  • Pause at the housepit site and imagine what it would have looked like 300 years ago when a now-extinct language rang out through the trees and across the water.
  • Participate in a demonstration at the interpretation centre. Check the events calendar.
