Boyd's Cove, off Highway 340, 1 hour north of Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador. How to get here.
1 hour: Tour the interpretation centre and walk the trail to the village site.
3-4 hours: After visiting Boyd's Cove, drive up
to Twillingate (30 minutes north) to learn more about the
settlement history of this area at the Twillingate
Museum and Craft Shop and the popular tourist attraction, Prime
Berth Fishing Heritage Centre. Twillingate calls itself the
"iceberg capital of the world" for good reason - there's lots of
choice for boat tours into "iceberg alley" - where ocean currents
drive icebergs close to shore.
