While nothing is obvious from the outside of the Colonial Building, work is progressing on its restoration. Detailed research was undertaken on the history of the building, how it was used, its original design features, and ways that it had changed over the years. All of this resulted in a comprehensive Historic Structure Report (weighing 12.5 lbs!)
We now know the building contains a veritable historical record of popular interior decorative treatments over the years. For example, the front lobby employed faux paint finishes followed by new decorative schemes every 20 years or so.
