Artist Talk: Drawing the Trail of the Caribou

Join artist and illustrator Caroline Clarke at the Colonial Building for an artist talk exploring their experience as the first artist-in-residence with the Trail of the Caribou Pilgrimage.
Travelling alongside the pilgrimage through Çanakkale and Gallipoli, Caroline documented the journey through drawing, and written observations. The sketchbook became a record of the places, people, and moments that shaped the experience.
The talk will explore reportage illustration, urban sketching, memory, and the role of drawing in witnessing and remembering history.

Doors Open will be a free community day celebrating Heart’s Content’s Registered Heritage District’s 150th Anniversary. Local heritage properties will open their doors to the general public, with craftspeople and artisans participating with a full day of demonstrations. Live on the Lawn: Andrew Smith Band

Following the release of his debut album, Spent, last summer, Andrew Smith and his band continue to carve out their own brand of alternative country in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Inspired by the twang of pedal steel and vocal inflections, they blend folk and rock ‘n’ roll with the spirit of outlaw country from the 1960s and ’70s. On any given night, the boys are sure to deliver a heavy mix of original songs and timeless country classics.
